There are many ways in which you can support vulnerable children, young people and families in partnership with the YMCA.
It is increasingly clear to us that in 2010 we need to better engage with our vulnerable young men and women across Scotland before they develop behaviours and habits that can ruin their lives. We know that along with some of our partner charities we can change young people at risk to support them to achieve their fullest potential.
Our main frustration in this today is the dramatically reducing public finances and the subsequent reduced capacity for us to intervene to save wasted young lives.
One of the big encouragements to us in YMCA Scotland is the widespread desire of ordinary people to help others less well off or who have not had the same privileges or opportunities in life. Whether you have time to help us to serve and support children, young people and families or whether you can help by supporting our work financially we treasure your support and we recognise the absolutely vital role of all our supporters in our vision for Scotland.
Can I assure you that all commitments of both time and money to YMCA Scotland will only be used in Scotland and that our costs will always be kept to an absolute minimum. We work to a policy of integrity and openness and will always welcome your questions about how we might use donations.
