How You Can
Help
YMCA
Scotland strives to support those young people in Scotland most
at risk during their vulnerable years and to benefit them from the
distinctive ethos of the YMCA and its concern for mind, body and
spirit.
We are determined to reach out to young people in
need more than ever before and to do this we rely heavily on people
like you to help us achieve this.
There are many ways in which you can support
YMCA Scotland
Individual
Support
A donation of any size can make a difference to
YMCA Scotland. For example, £5 can fund a half an hour’s work for a
YMCA youth worker to support a young person in need, £30 can fund an
evening’s work for a YMCA Youth worker to be on the streets engaging
with young people.
Regular donations made by Standing Order are an
easy way to show your commitment to helping Young People in Scotland.
As well as funding our work, it also enables us to plan for the future
with increased confidence. Donations can be made monthly, quarterly
or annually.
Print out the Standing
Order form and post it to YMCA Scotland and we will do the rest.
New Tax Arrangements for UK Taxpayers making
donations to UK charities.
Under new arrangements (from 6 April 2000) under
British tax laws donations made by individuals who pay tax in the UK
merit relief. This allows YMCA Scotland to reclaim the tax you have
already paid on your donations. For every £1 you donate, YMCA
Scotland can claim an extra 28p.
Your
donation of £30 could be worth £38.40 to us.
Print out the Gift Aid
Declaration form, fill in and post it to YMCA Scotland and help to
make your donation go even further.

Corporate
Support
Small Businesses and Companies can get involved
too. By funding key areas of our work or simply encouraging employees
in their fundraising endeavours, this kind of support is invaluable.
By working in partnership, YMCA Scotland
believes that Corporate fundraising benefits both customer and
employee relations helping to build upon community relationships
already established.
By choosing YMCA Scotland as Charity of the
Year , or by making a simple donation or
funding/sponsoring a specific project, companies can help to make
a real difference to Young People living in Scotland.
Individual employees can also donate through
Payroll Giving (or Give as You Earn) or organise an event at work
that will involve all employees.
Small Businesses and companies can help to make
a real difference.

Leaving a legacy to the YMCA is an ideal way of passing on the maximum
benefits of your estate as it will be entirely free of inheritance
tax. Whether you have already made a will or you are planning to
make one in the near future, the best way to leave us a gift is a
residuary bequest once the needs of your friends and family have been
met. As a charity, we are reliant on voluntary contributions to
continue our work. By including us in your will, you can have
the satisfaction that thousands of young people in need will benefit
from your precious gift through our vital work.
